Espellos of Bosque de Galicia

In the Bosque de Galicia we can find the artistic intervention Espellos (Mirrors), created by artist Manolo Paz with the aim of strengthening the link between this architectural complex and the Jacobean Route as well as the city of Santiago de Compostela.
The artistic intervention is formed by big stone cylinders that work as a great stone window from which to look upon the Galician capital from a unique perspective. These two sculptures intend to pique walkers’ interest so they make a stop to view – before the desired goal that is the Cathedral – the unique perspective of which is offered from this summit, integrated in the natural environment of the Galician capital.
Besides offering a different perspective of the capital, these pieces 3,5m tall by 3,8m wide and weighing 12 tons will also be useful in strengthening further the link between the Cidade da Cultura and St. James’ Way, as the Silver Way goes parallel to Mount Gaiás, through the Compostellan neighborhood of Sar.
